Problem with the network

good morning,

my goal is as following description :

install my java app SOCKET CLIENT on my SAMSUNG ANDROID PHONE
install my java app SOCKET SERVER on my MOTOROLA ANDROID PHONE

The 2 android phones have to comunicate over internet

i was hoping that TWINGATE service can reach my goal… but something is wrong

i have created a TWINGATE NETWORK as you can see on attached image, then i have installed and logged twingate client on Motorola phone and the other twingate client on Samsung phone.

from the TWINGATE WEB PAGE CONTROL PANEL , I can’t get the IP address assigned for each client … to solve this issue I have installed an third app on the respective phones to understand which address had been assigned, and I noticed that the address assigned by twingate is the exact same both on Samsung than on Motorola (see the attached image

(ì) , so i guess that the devices will not be able to communicate with each other with the same ip adress i would have expected to see two ip assigned one for each device

please help me to understand ,

Hi @pina,

Unless I am missing something, I think you are missing a component of Twingate: you need to deploy at least 1 Connector to tunnel the traffic you need.

In your example, you would need to:

  • install the Twingate app / client on the phone from which communication is initiated
  • install at least 1 Connector on the network where the phone receiving communication is
